In a world filled with so much confusion, one simple phrase is cutting through the noise across American highways. Since 2020, People for CHRIST - PRAY Billboard Mission, a non-profit that places Christian Billboards, have placed 185 billboards in 25 states, reaching more than 7 million travelers with a clear, compelling message: “PRAY- TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE”. The traffic counts near the first PRAY Billboard average 250,964 vehicles weekly, which often doubles most mega church attendance. If you are a person of FAITH, the benefits of PRAYER are Eternal and if you are not this message strikes to the heart of this Christian Billboard Ministry; there is no time to waste, seek salvation today. That starts with a PRAYER.  

This GOD-GIVEN MISSION started not with a marketing plan, but with a MIRACLE.  

“In 1990, I was nearly killed in a horrific car accident just a mile from my home in Martinsville, Indiana,” says Lisa Young, founder and servant of People for CHRIST.  “My car was impaled by a 100-foot guardrail. I should have died. But JESUS saved me, and I survived. That second chance became a nationwide ministry that places Christian Billboards decades later, in 2020, when the HOLY SPIRIT gave Lisa a direct instruction during the global lockdown: “I’VE GOT THIS” You need to concentrate on saving souls. Use BILLBOARDS. Put this on them: “PRAY- TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.” That is exactly what Lisa did. Since that time by GOD’s GRACE and many amazing partners the Mission continues. Our Partners are individuals, billboard owners and companies, publishers and local community businesses and churches that have faithfully supported these Christian Billboards since its inception, when despite having no funding or advertising experience, Lisa obeyed. And GOD has opened door after door.  

PRAY Billboard Mission has continued to grow and improve our processes over the past six years on a very lean budget and with a mostly volunteer staff. We seek donations to support our continued ability to place PRAY Billboards across America with this URGENT and SPIRIT-LED message. Anyone can HELP us SHARE THE LIGHT OF JESUS CHRIST by donating to support this striking and effective message that calls millions to PRAYER and even REVIVAL in a world that has gone mad. Something happens when you are looking for a Sign form GOD and encounter a PRAY Billboard along the highway telling you to “PRAY – TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.” We have testimonies from a number of travelers who wrote to us to tell us about their experiences when seeing a PRAY Billboard for the first time. One traveler, Cammie wrote this to us; “Cammie — Last fall my husband lost his job. We did not have a clear path about how we were going to make ends meet. It was incredibly stressful despite having the core knowledge, that God is always with us, and everything happens for a reason. There were countless times I succumbed to worry when I knew better. On several occasions, while mentally spiraling while commuting, I would pass this beautiful message from God on a billboard. It reminded me to stop my stinking thinking and turn to prayer instead of worrying. The LORD knew the power a billboard has when we learn in the Bible story of the Prophet Habakkuk whom He instructed to write HIS answer on a billboard large and clear so that anyone could read it and rush to tell others. This Bible story clearly inspires our Christian Billboard Mission with each new PRAY Billboard we place. Go and tell the others is the same instruction JESUS left with His Disciples. Additionally, a large, clear billboard can’t be censored or turned off. You see whether you wanted to or not. That’s a powerful platform and largely the reason these large structures cost so much money. A single billboard along an interstate is around $1,000 a month. But don’t let that number deter you. Some billboard companies don’t charge us the leasing price, and we only have to pay for the installation and the vinyl, and they will keep it at no cost until they get a paying customer. We are grateful that billboard companies and publications have special programs for nonprofits like People for CHRIST – PRAY Billboard Mission.
